Probably not too much help since it was in like 2010-11, but at the time there were two adult leagues. A rec/lower level league, then a mixed league that had more experienced rec players, all the way to former minor league/college players. At the time, the league coordinator had played for the islanders a little in the 80s, but actually played in this league and hung around at the bar watching most of the other games so if teams got too stacked, he’d make adjustments mid season so you wouldn’t waste a whole season getting killed every game. Hopefully it’s still run that way since it was a pretty fun, fair league. Couple things that did suck back then that might have changed by now. They used to have two rinks, but converted one to indoor soccer, so pickup games and stick and pucks were hard to come by. Also, there were no local shops so the only option for things like sharpenings, was the actual rink, or oddly enough a printing shop that offered sharpenings, tape, and laces. However they recently put a post on Facebook the other day that they were selling their machine, so might just be back to the rink. Here’s the place I played-https://northwoodsice.net/in the event there is more than one rink down there now. Looks like the same coordinator is still listed on the website. Hope that helps and good luck with the potential move!
