Sometimes you get asked to play for a team after drop in one day and you end up wearing a solid red jersey. The socks, elbow pads, shin pads, visor, and gloves are all from members here. Technically the skates are too now that I think of it, but Thom doesn't check in very often. But the holders are from a member here. All this to say, this place is solid.

seriously, sweet looking team shot. it's good to see some 'experience' represented. sometimes i get the feeling everyone on sports2k would play about 4 age divisions below mine.

How does 9 skaters work? 5F, 4D?

Two lines and 3 D, even if we have more we usually run 3 D, 2 centers, and 3 sets of wingers. It works for us with the certain guys on our team, the 3 D men have been doing it for eons together and the two centers are the best puck carriers we have, and they like lots of ice time, and the best thing is, it's not a hinder to our squad one bit really.

Thanks, there are some of us "old guys" that are still worthy.....well kinda anyway

 

 As long as we continue to be able to compete, we'll never stop trying, it's fun, exercise and winning that keeps us coming to the rinks.

 

p.s. These old guys your looking at will have played almost 150 games this winters season so playing against 30 year olds is nothing new to us, we do it every year. Our average age is probably close to 46 or 47.

150 team games is crazy. i play 2 or 3 times a week pickup, and our men's team plays one tournament a year. you guys must be the guys in tourney's who make us look bad because we hardly play games as a team :-) my team average age is way up there too. handful of 50+ dudes and no-one under 40. we still get up and down.

usually 4 leagues, playoffs and a bunch of tournaments, THEN, it's spring hockey where we still get to hit the ice once a week.

 

Just cause your getting on in age doesn't mean you can't play the game at a decent competitive level. We're in Div 1 and Div 2 and there are some damn good players there that should be other places {if ya get my drift}. It's fast hard hockey still.

Short bench but it still worked out in our favor. This is in Div 2, our Div 1 team also won the cup, I'll have that shot when it becomes available. Some of us play on both teams, some don't, that's why the three "A"s
