Hey Guy's , can runners on Graf cobra holders be sharpened / profiled to take out the forward lean , they are famous for , or is it just the way the cobra holders are made. Thanks

In my experience it's the Holders AND the boots.  I had TUUK's put on mine and actually had shims put in to make them flatter like Bauers.  Total Hockey (Now Pure Hockey) did it for me for like $10 even though I hadn't bought the skates there.

I couldn't get used to the forward lean and when ever I got going at high speeds I'd be skittering and bouncing in my turns and cuts.

So, in my experience changing the holders wasn't enough.  You actually had to address the lean built into the boots as well.  I'd be surprised if you couldn't just profile them flatter.  I bet you can.

Hope that helps some.

Yes you can get your blade with a negative pitch in a profile.

Do you guy's think getting step steel for graf ultra holders would make a big change in the forward lean. Been reading that cobra holders are much better made than Tuuk's & Speedblade's.

Can't say for sure.  I am not 100% sure if the Cobra steel is pitched, I know the holder is pitched definitely.  I am not an expert on steel.  As for holder builds I used to skate on grafs and moved over to bauer.  Aside from losing the pitch, I didn't notice much difference in the holders.  I have never skated on Speedblades.  I do know the SBs are stiffer than tuuks though.  I am not sure where the cobra holder rates in terms of stiffness.

I''m going to send the 703's to my guy ( Skatetech ) & he is going to install lift's under front of holders , profile if needed . called Graf & they said the holders are a little lower in the front. Ordered Step steel for them & just waiting on that to send to Skatetech. If I put Tuuk's on , would have to drill holes & I don't want to have that done.
