As a general rule of thumb for shinny, you have to have a dark and a white jersey.

For those of us with lots of colour options to wear I just want to get a consensus from the group on where each one fits

Basically I’m looking to justify my outrageous colour setups and playing on the appropriate team.

Usually the white team is always white, anything else plays on the colours team but there are some exceptions

Yellow - probably on the white team but can vary
Baby blue - dark team
Green - dark team
Grey - don’t do it unless it’s really dark or really light

Red - biggest area of contention in my opinion. Some guys are adamant that red should play on the white team. I think red is a strong enough colour that it should be on the dark team.

Royal/Navy Blue - there are some lunatics who think blue should be on the white team

What do you guys think? Am I insane that I put this much thought into it?

White is white. Black is dark. Everything else goes either way to balance teams. Red can be either white or dark. Don't wear yellow or grey or orange ever. Green/Baby blue can be either white or dark similar to red, but I still wouldn't wear them.

Baby Blue and Yellow seems to be the ones that mess with people here that people can't figure them out...Then it is usually white vs. the rest...

Black or white. Nothing else.

I used to wear red years ago. Now I can see why people hated it. Yellow is even worse.

I bring one black and one white to pickup. As a sub, I use a Sharks 3.0 to match the jerseys of the team I'm subbing for.

"What is your lowest/best price?" is NOT an offer.

I was really surprised when I moved to DC last year that everyone wears red. I’ve been to drop in where it’s red vs everything else. Thought it was the strangest thing when I was the only person wearing black. So now I keep black, white, and red in my bag. No longer own/wear any other colors

White is white.  Everything else is dark.  Don't bring a gray, yellow, almond, or anything of that ilk.  Leave that in the bag.

Also, bring a White AND a dark!  I hate the guys that just have 1.  Are you 6?  It's rat hockey, bring one of each.  C'mon man.

Worst color you could wear is grey.

When it comes to pick up, leave it to white vs dark (black preferred but navy is ok).  I don't like wearing colors like red, orange, etc unless my entire team is wearing it as well.

If your bag has wheels, you don't.

I’m with the majority, White is white and everything else is the dark team.

The only colours that aren’t acceptable are grey and beige in my opinion. There’s always some clown who wears one of those colours on the dark team and someone always ends up passing it to them. When I’m on the dark team I do like to wear a bright orange or green sometimes for exact opposite reason, you stand out and people on your own team generally will look to feed it to you lol

white is white. everything else is dark generally, red is dark, pretty simple, if you can't decipher red on dark then god help you, you're either colorblind or need to watch more episodes of sesame street to get your colors down. DO NOT wear yellow or light grey. you are a plug if you wear either, i can see peoples issues with yellow and light grey is a shit show if you put them on white, plus guys who look up for a white jersey and see light gray are hesitant.

Looking for BIOSTEEL jersey made by UA or Adidas.

For some strange reason over here it is Red vs White, Black being assigned so the numbers even out.

What however really grinds my gears is jerseys with mixed colors, meaning e.g. a Black jersey with white shoulders/arms, a Red-White jersey with a diagonal split through the middle (looks Red or White depending on the side), etc.

My personal recommendation to new starters over here: get yourself a solid Red and a White (or at least one that when turned inside-out is almost white).

Yeah, super confused by the folks who are saying that red can play with white.

Agreed...never seen a pickup where red was "light"...maybe once or twice in the past where there was just an abundance of players wearing black and a couple of guys wearing red were put on white to balance things out, but generally it's just a given they are dark.

I think it's pretty simply, avoid the colors that are in between to avoid confusion...beige, gray, yellow.  I will admit that I once wore a yellow jersey to drop-in, knowing full well I would get flamed for it. But it was my Nike Swift Team Deutschland practice jersey that I had just got and I didn't care :-) It was with a group I skate with all the time, so the chirping was in good fun.  Plus everyone on dark was wearing black that day so it was easy to tell I was light.  I save that jersey for stick time now...
