I wear medium pants with no added length and they fit fine. I found a pair of pants that I’d like to pick up with +1 added length. Since I don’t typically need the added length I’m wondering what impact it’ll have in fit/playing. Anyone else wear added length pants when it’s not necessary?

Should not matter too much , they will sit a little lower down your knee.

This is a really stupid question, I'm sorry. Imagine adding an inch to the length, and you have your answer obviously, why are you even asking this question?

Dick move saying it’s a stupid question. The guy just wants to make sure the pants will fit before he drops something like $150+ on them. Don’t shame a guy just for asking a question and being part of S2K.

Explain to me how you can explain to someone that a pair of pants being +1 inch in length.....are +1 inch in length.

I have the 1+ zipped up and have never noticed it. Tried it down once and it was too long for my short legs.

Wheelsnipe - That was hilarious.  I get where the OP is coming from but your response was hilarious.  Made my night.  Thanks brother.  Hope you are well.

This is a really stupid question, I'm sorry. Imagine adding an inch to the length, and you have your answer obviously, why are you even asking this question?

Based on that logic, the reverse question could be asked in 'WTF would it be necessary to add 1" length to your pants?' The answer to that would be additional protection for taller players. Well that additional protection may fall too low on my knee and negatively impact shorter players. So yes, I get that it's only 1" longer, but it's also kind of hard to picture 1" longer when I'm actually wearing the pants. I suppose I can try sliding my current pants down an inch on my hips and see if it makes a negative impact with my shin pads.

My main question was if anyone had bought pants with an extension and found that the extra inch or two made them too long.

Don't like the question? Skip the post and ignore it. Boom! Simple

I’ll answer your question.

I’m 5’10” and tried +1 Warrior Coverts once. I didn’t like the +1 at all, since the pads behind the legs would fold a bit when I had a deep knee bend. However, I use HP45s now and unzip the +1 extension, since it brings those pants to just the right length for me. Bauer Nexus fit perfect without the +1, and I’d be afraid to try +1 again for the reason listed above.

Thanks! I'm the same height as you so that's good to know. It's interesting to hear about the sizing variance between Warrior vs CCM. I wore RBZ for a while then upgraded to Warrior QRL (both medium) and am looking to get into a pair of HP45. I took people's advice and bought one size up which turned out to be too loose around the waist. Length-wise they felt longer, but manageable so perhaps a medium+1 won't be too much of a problem.

Appreciate the insight.

For me, HP45 hit just above my kneecap (not shinpad, but actual kneecap), and that’s with the zipper undone for the +1. You may be OK if you keep the zipper closed.

Well the particular pants I’m looking in are marked +1, so not including the zipper which would give another 1”

I needed a pair of Bauer supreme uppers , found a pair on ebay that were my size , but were + 1 ( tag sewn to uppers said XL+1 ). asked seller if a XL+1 upper is longer than a XL & he said no. Ordered them & measured them to a XL pair, I had. same exact size. The +1 is added to the bottom ( thigh pad area). the only way you might lose some protection , is if you use a smaller size upper with a larger size lower ( EX: upper L / lower XL ). The loss in protection would be were the hip & thigh pads meet.

Right, just keep that zipper done up and you should be ok. I think I know exactly what pants you are looking at BTW!
