So I posted not to long ago about my 1x skate eyelets cracking. I sent them into Chad at Skate Tech. In the mean time I purchased Bauer X900s. They felt great in the store, baked them and my last 3 skates I am getting horrible lace bite. I’ve never had this before in any Bauer skates. I know they have a thinner tongue.

Has anyone had this before? Will the skates break in and stop? I hope so.

Try tying your skates differently. Going outside -> In can help relieve the pressure on the top of your foot. There's some good youtube videos on different techniques.

- Always looking for new style stars gear, particularly Bauer!

It’s the shitty tongues Bauer uses on lower end skates

I had a lot of success with this as well. Went from having to wear those slip-on lace bite pads on both feet to not having to wear anything.

Just an update, Chad was able to fix my old 2015 1X injected molded eyelets.

I ended up returning my X900s for Bauer Supreme 2s pros. What a world of difference. No more lace bite.

Supremes have a deeper fit than Vapors. I used to wear Vapors for years and always ended up with lace bite. Switched to Supremes 5 years ago and never had the issue again. I'm in VH now but if I went back to Bauer, it would be the Supreme line. Vapors don't work for everyone.
