couple questions about baking retail skates...

1) anyone bake without socks to get a tighter fit? or is that a bad idea?

2) I was wondering if the clamping technique used for true skates might work for other pairs of skates too.

Any other tricks for getting good heel lock would be greatly appreciated.

thanks boys

I don’t think baking without socks is advisable- hot metal eyelets on your bare foot probably doesn’t feel good.

I've always been told to bake your skates the same way that you wear them on the ice. I'm getting to re-bake my MLX because I recently decided that I no longer need the brace on my right ankle. I played without the brace for the first time in 3 years on Friday and it was crazy how loose my skate felt.

always looking for non Reebok L & XL shells......
