Are there any benefits to picking up a pair of pro stock elbow pads? I have pmts and gloves, and know there’s a little more padding and protection, but does that go for the elbow pads also? I’ve been eyeing a pair of CCM Tacks Pro on Sideline Swap, but I’m not seeing much of a difference than a retail version.

Or would I be better off with a retail pair of AS1’s versus the Tacks Pro?

IMO certain pro stock elbow pads are a little beefier and built stronger then most high end elbow pads. Look into what your buying carefully and make sure its truely "Pro Stock". Most Bauer and Warrior "Pro Stock" elbow pads you see are just high end retail models. Certain Reebok and CCM models are only available to pro teams and most Div 1 Teams. Reebok 9166, Reebok 7K, 8K, 20K, and 21K are a few examples of "Pro Stock" models. Usually go for good money since they aren't as accessible as retail models.

Good to know, thanks. I knew the “K” models were good to go, I just hadn’t see a Tacks Pro model before, but I know that the pro stock gloves have Pro labels on the cuffs. I figured this forum has the best knowledge, and I can’t find anything.

It does say they’re from the Avs, but that’s not necessarily legit. These are the pair in question.

I have a pair of CCM Super Tacks Pro elbows. Can’t really compare to anything else as my other elbows were RBK 6K retails, but they certainly feel protective.

That seller does sell a lot of Pro Stock Avs stuff so I would say they are legit Pro Stock from the Avs based on his past items

They say pro under ultra on bicep guard , retail's would only say ultra.

Wouldn’t pro elbows have the thicker foam covering the plastic? Or has that been universally adopted into retail as well?

For the Pro stock model on the Ultra elbow pads retail are Branded Tacks on the cuff and the Pro are Branded CCM..have both retail and pro..The pro stock the four arm
Padding is just a bit more big and a bit more paded...No big difference..everthing else is exactly the same

Those are pro stock 100%,I delt with him he is Great and fair seller,as for the elbow pads being pro stock very easy man look on the cuff the Pro Stock will be Branded CCM and the Retail they be Branded Tacks.

There are also the New Tacks2 same as the tacks,only difference is the padding on the for arm and strap is adjustable like the New retail As1 elbow pads,

Thank for all the info. I realized they were pro stock, my biggest question was the differences between the two. May not have been clear in my post.

I ended up getting g them, now I’m just waiting for them to arrive!
