Does anyone here use the CCM P30? Currently in P28, tried P88, hoping this would be a good tweener pattern. Gave up on the P92. Side by side the P30 seems so close to the P14 but some say it’s not. I’d love a Gallagher pro in LH but maybe this is close enough.

Used a P30 after going through a P28 and P14. Loved stickhandling with the P30, but always felt that unless the puck was right at the toe, i couldn't load the stick properly when shooting. That being said, loved it when it was in that sweet spot.

As to the comparison to Bauer's P14, it is Much more closed than P14. Really have to throw your hands up when going upstairs

Side by side it seems so similar to the P14 which I couldn’t use to save my life. Got a brand new Trigger 2 P30 75 Flex to give a go but didn’t know if this pattern was catching on or just another one of CCMs plethora of options that no one really grabs onto.

If you end up liking it, I would grab a few asap. My LHS ordered P30s woth their Trigger 2 shipment, but haven't ordered any since

I’ll probably end up sticking with P28 anyway. Just looking for feedback on how it plays.

I used it last night for the first time and it felt good however it’s hard to commit to a pattern that is hard to find and or not catching on really. CCM retail only and I’ve never seen a pro stock stick with the pattern either.

When people talk about the P14, is the P14 the same as the BC14? If the BC14 is NOT the P14, then can anyone comment on how the CCM P30 compares to the BC14?

I love the CCM P30; it is hard to go upstairs with it (as someone said- I often shoot over the net when I try to go high, because I overcompensate), but it makes the entire rest of the game (catching passes, retrieving pucks, board play, sending passes, stickhandling) very easy.  Since this curve is being discontinued, I am looking for a new curve.

The BC14 looks alot like the CCM P30 online, but in person and online are often 2 different things, and just s subtle thing like too much rocker or no rocker can throw my entire game off (I admit I am not all that). I like the shortness of the CCM P30 especially; too much blade just gets in the way for me. So if BC14 is a longer blade then it is useless to me.

I found the BC14 here:

BC14 is the old Easton Shanahan. It’s closer to a higher lie CCM P38 than anything. It’s a beautifully mild mid-toe curve. It’s also the longest retail curve I think I’ve ever seen, so I don’t think it’ll be for you. Claude Giroux’s curve looks like it started as the Shanahan and looks very similar if it’s not exactly the same still.

Having owned more than 6-7 p10 (BC14) sticks, including BASE LT and Kane pro stick, I will say they are completely different curves. The P30 is like P88 where the curve begins in Mid or the Heel area, whereas the BC14 is completely straight like PM9 for the start of the blade. The curve begins in the toe area but is not too open. P30 has a much more open toe curve. I will say the P30 is more similar to Bauer p14 than the BC14. The BC14 is also longer in length and comes in square toe.

You can take a look at the blog from BASE about the BC14 curve.

In terms of p10, there seems to be a modified version of this curve used by Max Domi which is more open but I havent seen it or used it
