hey guys,
so i need a few new sticks. i was using sher wood t90's 95 flex with stastny curves

i wanna stay with a nice toe curve, preferrably something a little more closed i think though.

i want to improve on my back hander too, should i be looking at a lower flex stick?

i dont really take slap shots, if anything i rip 1 timers if i'm recieving a pass on a 2 on 1

any suggestions? i dont know too much on pro stick options

Get 85 flex gionta curve warrior widows. They come an extra 4" taller so assuming you only take off 2" of that like I do you'd have a relative 90 flex stick. The gionta pattern is completely closed with a pretty flat heel and all toe curve so you get what you want there and with the flat heel it will help your back hand like no other. As far as the widow it's a low kick point stick with the danger taper so It loads and unloads quickly perfect for the quick snap shots and one timers off the pass without a wind up

Yeah the flatter the curve the easier to back hand, take Crosby for example flattest curve in the league and the best back hand. This of course doesn't mean you can't back hand with a big curve cause many guys do including myself but the flatter the easier

The Gionta is a nice curve. Numan described it very accurately. I had no problem switching between my Sakic/P92 clones and it. The only reason I sold mine was because I'm not a fan of the lower lie on it. The Widow's have the 3 inch extension so I believe they play whippier uncut and will be the listed flex when cut down 3 inches. I've never owned one though, so someone who has will have to confirm that. That seemed to be the consensus I got from the Warrior product manager on MSH.

Any major website like hockeymonkey or Hockeygiant should have them, they are retail but it's a quality stick. If you just wana try the curve for now maybe get a blade to start and put it in an old shaft?

And the backstroke P92 is just a slightly deeper Sakic basically the same and is the most popular curve in hockey. Most pro guys either us that or something that is derived from that, including my self, it is an awesome curve and I'm sure many members would agree you can't go wrong with it but like steel nation said when I used a gionta I had no trouble switching back and forth with a P92. It is a great curve but it has an open face and some loft on it so if you want that closed face you mentioned originally stay gionta
