Personally, I'm torn between your earlier post about continuing playing, but back wearing a helmet mask, versus sitting it out until the Omicron spike subsides.  You and I both play on multiple teams in the same league.  In my situation, I have one team I'm on (which you're also on) that I generally feel pretty comfortable playing with, but it's all the other COVID-denier folks that we play against (or have as teammates on other teams) that present a substantial risk to the rest of us.  What can you really do?

By the way, I deeply regret ever saying out loud to you a few months ago that I thought Delta was "the last of the worst of this."

yeah, our common team, I'm quite comfortable. my other team, seems pretty good too though I think my team's leader takes it more seriously than yours does. I'm confident that you agree with that. Omicron is so mild for so much of the vaxxed that I feel the risk I'm taking, IMO very low, is worth the joy I get from playing hockey. everyone has to evaluate that risk for themselves and their loved ones though.

always looking for non Reebok L & XL shells......

not to quibble but Omicron is COVID, it's just a different variant.

Correct, obviously. But I think most understand the OG Covid 19 vs Delta vs Omicron. Seeing as Omicron and Delta weren't around until 2020, shouldn't they technically be 'Covid-20'?

Like you, I'm not in a hurry to get it and have no issues wearing masks, eating outdoors, or whatever to take small precautions to be on the safer side. I don't understand people who throw a fit being asked to do the tiniest things

Omicron is so mild for so much of the vaxxed

And that right there is the heart of it.  People read "mild" and think it's just a few sniffles and a sore throat.  When the experts say "mild," they actually mean it in the clinical sense, i.e. not requiring hospitalization.  You could feel like you've been hit by a truck for a week and they'd still call it "mild," yet it could still be the sickest you'll ever be in your life.

You guys are really getting hosed up there. I wonder how this will affect Team Canada in a few years seeing as many young kids have missed two-plus years of hockey development with the restrictions.

We wonder the same thing. How will this affect hockey in general for years to come?

There were rinks in Ontario open during the last restrictions and taking the $1130 fine per day.

$500 per hour for ice time and this one facility had 3 pads.

They were jammed from 7am-10pm each day.

In Manitoba our league has been going with no interruptions since second week of September.
