I currently wear CCM quick lites or u lites (I forget which). Love the weight and the 3-piece design. The 2X pro appears to have a similar design but I like the idea of the harder curve composite on the forearm for a bit more protection. The CCM pads are all closed cell foam and don’t exactly offer much in terms of slash protection.

Not that I’ll be using them anytime soon but figured I’d ask anyone’s thoughts on the pads. Thanks!

I dont know about the Bauer protective line but if you are looking for more protection in the forearm area check out the Alpha DXs. They are super comfortable and are longer than the CCM which may work for you

I bought a pair about a month ago and have used them twice on ice, coming from 2S Pro elbows. The forearm guards on 2X pro are slightly tapered so they feel lessy bulky than the 2S pro and wrap my forearms much better. The only problem I have is that the right pad (my bottom hand) always slide down when I'm playing so I have to constantly pull it up. I blame the 3-piece design, since same problem happened when I was wearing the FT1 elbows, which also have 3-piece construction. Eventually I had to switch back to the 2S Pro, but if you are a fan of the 3-piece design, and don't have massive forearms, I suggest you to try them out.

@Hills has made a in-depth review on the 2X Pro, which I found very helpful:

If you also wear size medium and are interested in getting a pair I can sell mine to you at a cheaper price

I found I had to put a piece of tape around the elbow section and now my FT1s stays in place.  How did you find the fit of the 2x pro vs the FT1?  are they deeper fitting?

Oof it's been a while since the last time I wore the FT1 so I could be wrong. The fit of elbow sections between these two are almost identical, but the forearm and bicep guards on 2X Pro are much snugger, which might help the entire pads be locked in place.

I was intrigued by those when they first came out as I liked the sleeve

You have to try them on with gloves though. I have shorter arms and would have had to constantly push them up and it would have been annoying for me. Longer arms and they would be the perfect combination of comfort and protection. Ended up going back to my RBZs

New pads arrived (thanks BesToss). Definitely offer a lot more forearm protection both in terms of wrap and in terms of length (still have slash guards for when I want more protection). Surprisingly, weight feels pretty similar between the two. The large protruding elbow cap on the 2X pro looks weird as hell, but feels comfortable. Not sure when I'll actually be able to play in them, but look forward to when I can

Great example of the coverage. I was surprised by them and really liked them.
