[Dupes]

Ive been using P91A as long as I can remember.

Nowadays, unless you go custom, they are hard to find.

 

Curious to know if anyone made the transition to another pattern, if so, which one?

I have a stash of P91As (and P106) that I still use as my primary pattern. Been using it for almost 20 years. I’ve tried a ton of other patterns for fun but most of them end up in the sale section here lol.

If I had to totally abandon P91 I’d go with P14 or P08/Oshie pro. P92 works best out of the “mainstream” curves but the lie and rocker aren’t comfortable for me.

Yeah, I cant seem to get use to it. I tried P90TM a few times, and it may be a runner up but I fee like I will always want to go back to my good old P91A

What seems to be the struggle with it? What about P28M? That one's less rockered at the toe, possibly playing similar to the P91A just with the toe curve added.

The profile and lie on the P28 are fine, it’s losing about 40% of the surface area on the backhand that is the issue. Especially for me as a right handed LW.

I’d agree with Dupes that the P90T is another decent alternative as it’s less extreme on the toe than the 28. Kopitar and a few other ex-P91 guys have gone that route.

I went to a p28 for the majority of last fall season, but still went back to a p91 in the spring. There's just something about a heel curve you can't replicate. I ended up just doing customs with a slightly different heel pattern and haven't looked back.

Pattern update

 

After given a good shot at P28, i cant do it.

P90TM is definitely a good replacement, however, I went back to P91A this past week... and I decided to stick with it, which kind of sucks because its harder to find in the market.
