Finally got to use my new custom FT4 skates, but there was one issue - I could not get my blades all the way into the holder. The Step would not go all the way into the holder by the smallest amount.

Any suggestions?

I just picked up a pair of FT2s and put in Black Step and kind of had to bang it in at the end as I think it is a touch thicker than stock. There is a little notch at the back that almost makes it look like it isn't all the way in too, not sure if that is what you are referring to as well?

Mine was difficult the first handful of times I swapped them but got easier over time, also I have that little notch in the back too which appears to be normal.  I had issues getting the front to hook correctly the first few times, a few times I thought it was in correctly and after I screwed it down I realized the front wasn't fully seated and had to do it again.

louie... can you post some pics of what you're dealing with?

That notch in the back is just to be able to grab at something when you want to pull it out. It's not that it's not seated in the holder

You are correct. I was saying that because I was wondering if that made him think it wasn't all of the way in

All 4-5 of my step/Ty Dan are just like that as well

Good Idea; Whistling while you work.

Bad Idea; Whistling while you eat.

Okay cool! The metal piston wasn’t flush and I just was paranoid.

took my stepsteel  runners out of the holders , to get sharpened ( didn't want whole skate sitting in car while at gym ). To get them back in & flush , I had to really bang the heel on the floor to get them in flush & just get them in enough.. Wish Ccm  would fix this problem. Got away from Tuuk edge / stepsteel for that reason , but at least with the speedblade XS , you can replace the locking system , by yourself & don't have to remove holder.
