As per the annual Reddit posting on gear launches there are 2 new Bauer sticks coming out this year. A new Bauer Nexus refresh and a stick called Bauer Ag5nt (looks like a new special edition low kick similar to how the sling was a special edition mid kick)…..here is a new video from On The Bench that has an excellent visual of the new nexus stick (starting at the 5:38 mark) and also what I think could be the Ag5nt, although a very brief glimpse starting at the 5:35 mark ….

When did Bauer make them their custom gloves? They look SICK.

Custom everything.

The Bauer Nexus Sync is now available on myBauer. They changed the look of the online customizer and I see 2 new colours now - Teal and Purple.

Anyone know if there is a difference between their Benn (under pro) and p90tm (under retail) options for mycustom?  I guess they'll be offering a P90tm at retail?

I have both. The differences are subtle akin to the P28 vs Kucherov or Pasta. The Benn is more of a “kink” at the toe while the CCM P90TM is a bit smoother if that makes sense. The Benn toe is also slightly less round. Otherwise they’re more or less identical. I’ve never seen the Bauer P90TM so not sure this would be 100% applicable.

Interesting that the P90TM is showing up under “retail”. There are a lot of dead patterns in that category like P89, P106 etc so maybe the jury is still out as to whether or not Bauer releases it in stores? I’ve always thought they should have the Benn at retail instead of the P92M. Having two P92 versions is pretty lame given how limited the pattern selection is already these days.

Thanks, Cavs. Helpful as always. Hope things are good with you. I’ve had the same experience - I’ve used p90t variations from all brands, and nothing is quite the same as Bauer’s benn. It’s definitely more of an abrupt kink than the more gradual toe pocket on the others. You’re probably right about their possible retail version mirroring what ccm has with the p90tm and true’s tc6. Maybe they chose the tm because it’s less jarring to look at and they figure it might have more retail appeal? One thing that’s odd is that I’ve seen a ton of ccm p90t pro stocks (including ones made for Jamie benn) and they all have the more gradual pattern. Never seen a perfect copy of the bauer. Unfortunately for me I way prefer the bauer benn. :/

Seeing some Bauer Ag5nt stick chatter pick up on Reddit….apparently 335g for a senior stick! Wow. I think that’s way too light.
Also It’s made with some other material (boron) that makes it double the durability and a price tag of $500cad (guesses at this point I think)….these
Prices are getting out of hand!

Honestly couldn’t appreciate a subjective difference in weight between this and the Vapor ADV. I think because the elliptical taper sticks feel more blade-heavy for some reason so the balance point made the stick feel heavier than it is.

Custom everything.

Some guy had one Sunday morning pickup, he went to block my shot and cracked right at the bottom of the shaft

Lol ya, i felt bad. But iirc boron is fairly brittle, so not exactly sure why they decided to make a stick from it. I am not very hard on sticks, but i still wouldn't go near it

Lol it's just nuts. I remember my dad being pissed about having to spend 60 bucks or whatever on a grip lite shaft that ended up lasting half of high school lol

It really sucks because the NHL is all about growing the game, yet we have these companies jacking up prices each and every year. Ya, they have entry level stuff that’s affordable, but a lot of kids want the latest and greatest. I don’t know about you guys, but I always asked for the new high end stick from Bauer or Easton every year for Christmas. At $200ish dollars, that was something that parents could budget for and put under the tree. Now you’re looking at $500ish after tax and that’s just not something most families can afford.

Those Easton shafts were amazing. GripLites were tanks.

$200-US in 2000 is worth around $345 today according to https://www.in2013do...2000?amount=200

$290 in 2000 is worth $500.

I haven't looked for the actual data but have heard that wages haven't kept up with inflation over that period, or the generation before, which makes it even worse.

In 2000 or so, sticks weren't 200 bucks, they were 100

Shafts were $100 and UltraGraphite (99.99% fibreglas) blades were $50 in the late 90’s. Z-Bubble was more, maybe $135, and I think Focus Flex blades were $75. Easton Synergy was $149.99 or 159.99+tax in the Midwest in 2000, iirc.

Was the first $200 stick the Synergy Si-Core? I think it was 2004 when sticks broke the $200 barrier. If we say $200 in 2004, it would be $315 in 2022 according to the same site.
