How Bo Horvat remade himself into one of the NHL’s most dangerous goal scorers

This Athletic article (no paywall due to archive.vn) states that Horvat swapped his curve from a heel curve to a mid-toe as well as dropping flex in the offseason based on Adam Oates' recommendation.

Anyone know which curve he swapped to?

Thanks.

Pretty sure Oates pushes all of his guys to switch to P92.

I’ve seen his stick a few years ago. He was using a P14, by the sounds of it he’s using a P92

I thought P14 was a toe-ish curve?

Maybe the stick I saw was an odd one out. Either way, stoked he’s using a p92, now I can buy his sticks.

It always looked mid to me with some loft to the toe that kinda made it look like a toe curve.  P28 and Hossa pro both have more curve up near the toe.

P14 is definitely not a heel curve, so I doubt that p14 was his, maybe just a trial made for him.

I'm a righty and have a tough time really nailing down the details of left curves, but his curve looks like a slightly modified Drury with a bit less curve from my memory

I don't think it is as drastic as going from this to a P92 or anything else. If anything he just added some toe to what this was.

Unless it’s CCM’s P14, their equivalent to a PM9, W01, MC2, etc.

Oates used to always try and get guys to switch to Stamkos’ curve:

Scheifele, McDavid, Barzal all switched, amongst others.

Horvat’s current blade profile looks different, more PM9ish.

There’s definitely some toe on there though.

Funnily enough, Stamkos has also since switched. Looks like he uses a P28 now.

Horvat has been a Bauer guy as long as I can remember.

I’m an idiot. I mean PM9. Thanks for correcting. I’m stoked to find his stick in P92.

His new blade doesn’t resemble P92 though. It looks more like a PM9 with toe curve added.
