Hey Guys , received a new pair of pro stock FT2's today. bought them without steel , tried to put in a pair of used stepsteel & a pair of new tydan XS runners. speedblade xs holder dial would not tighten up with both set of runners , watched 2 different video's how to take dial parts out & it will not come out. What is the secret to this !

Are you able to manipulate it open and closed with out the steel? Does the mechanism extend out from the rear pillar of the holder, also is it stuck outside the holder?

If the mechanism itself works fine, I’d try putting the skates on with the steel in, and then tightening. Sometimes some weight on the heel will seat the steel properly.

Good Idea; Whistling while you work.

Bad Idea; Whistling while you eat.

Not to sound stupid but does it tighten without trying to put in steel? Alot of aftermarket steel is thicker. When I put in black Step Steel I have to make sure to bang in steel a bit or dial will not turn. Obviously if it won't turn with no steel then disregard. Lol

The screw goes in & out with no steel , with steel , tighten screw dial will just spin or get jammed. . In replace dial mech video , the guy loosens dial & pulls screw out with needle nose piliers , I do that & screw does not come out.

Put skates on with Tydan runners , tightened up skates & runners were able to lock in the SB XS dial , still can't get Stepsteels to lock in , going to ask my skate guy what he thinks , when I go to get Tydans sharpened

Step steel is harder to lock in on my XS holders too. I have to press the boot down hard on the ground and can then spin the wheel closed. I can’t do it just holding the skates

I use Step and it takes some pressure to get it in there enough to dial it down all the way, can't do it just by squeezing/pressing the blade in by hand, always have to press the boot down on something to get enough force.  I just had one holder replaced and that one takes twice the effort, I'm guessing the other has been broken in by now.
