I just read a January article from the CBC that stated in Halifax they are no longer testing frozen ponds to see if they are adequate for hockey. The warming winters have allowed only about 2 or 3 weeks where testing was even possible.

Are the ponds frozen where you guys are living in Canada? What have you noticed over the past 2 or 3 winters?

I would greatly like to skate on a frozen pond in Canada during the dead of winter but it seems like the chances are dwindling.

If you come out to Alberta there are many frozen lakes, especially in the Banff and Canmore area. Shinny at Lake Louise is like playing in a movie!

The outdoor skating season is quite long in the mountains...
