Iginla curve is not the same as the P88.
You're right. It isn't the exact same and I shouldn't have used "=", but it is the most similar.

Definitely patches/pantskinz. Honestly, I'm sure for Worlds IIHF doesn't care much about NHL logos, off-colors, etc., whereas for Olympics the uniform requirements are much more stringent. Even then, I'm sure exceptions will be made.
The only exceptions made at Olympics are one time accidents. They take their uniform requirements extremely seriously, not just in hockey but in all sports. World Championship is run by IIHF not IOC so regulations differ slightly.

I'm sure the IIHF doesn't want to squabble with the NHL over something minor like that. The NHL literally brought back the World Cup of Hockey to spite the Olympics. Doubt an unimportant tourney like the World Championships want to force the NHL to fight them on that tourney too. Without NHL players the World Championships might not even exist, even if it isn't a true best on best competition.

IIHF WC is important though, it just so happens that the NHL evolved in isolation of it, and now is far too concerned with its own interests to step aside in favor of any other spot light. Outside of the NHL’s influence, the World Championship remains important.
It's important outside of North America. Not so much here because the playoffs are on. In terms of senior level international tournaments the WC would probably be the third most important behind both the Olympics (when the NHL actually allows their players to attend) and the WCOH (assuming it happens on a regular basis at some point). It's hard to call a tournament that doesn't feature true best on best important. The NHL and the players have made it clear that they value the Stanley Cup more than the WC. Even players not in the playoffs aren't there (McDavid, Doughty, etc). If it was truly that important Canada and the USA would have all the best players who aren't in the playoffs barring any lingering injuries.

The WCOH is shit compared to the Olympics or World Championships imo. At least have it on Hybrid size ice or Olympic sized ice. I'm sick of the Canada is the end all be all for hockey. Hockey is your main sport vs. other countries where hockey is 3 or 4 or even below that. Canada is supposed to win. Its great when they don't. People said last Olympics Canada could win with a D squad. Guess what they didn't. They got outclassed by Germany last Olympics. International play is very important to other countries.
