his old 1X skates didn't have them either. Personal preference I guess

There is a local show called New England Hockey Journal, he was interviewed by the host about that as it was a Bauer segment. He said that a few times the trigger broke or disengaged the blade so opted to not use them any more. I am sure it wouldnt take but a few minutes for an EM to change out steel if it broke.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but the all star shells/pants have 3 teal stripes on them. Similar to the adidas stripes

They need more teal. One of the NHL's unique colors and its basically non existent on the uniforms with slight splashes on the gloves and pants. They had such an opportunity with it and went totally bland. Blah

They should go retro in 2020 and use the 1990 All-Star Game uniforms. Those were awesome. 2017 All-Star uniforms were close, but not quite there. Not a fan of this year's uniforms, but before I totally trash them, I'll wait for the actual game to see how they look.

 

In other news, I still hold the opinion that the All-Star game should be 5 on 5, East vs. West, winner has home ice advantage for the Stanley Cup Final. So the game actually matters... Because I haven't gave a crap about the ASG for years.

In my opinion it did because players and Managers played it like a real game instead of just a useless showcase. Others obviously disagree because it went back to original format and no longer has any impact on home field during World Series. Just my .o2

I watch the all star game more as background noise while I work on my computer or do other stuff around the house. The skills are far more interesting then the actual game IMO

It doesn't appear he actually wore them when he won the fastest skater competition, which I find hilarious. He was in his original Jetspeeds. He was wearing FT1 gloves, however.

The new skates probably weren’t broken in yet to his level. Players wear new gear in preseason too, then switch back to their older stuff they like better for the regular season. It’s probably ordered by their sponsors.
I don’t mind both those skates though.

Skate cosmetics are far more revolting than they were just a few years ago. RBZ were CCM's best looking skate, with the first generation JetSpeeds next best. They've just gotten uglier and uglier since. In my opinion.
