i bought some used canucks pro tongues from scdp99 and bought a speedy stitcher. grew some balls and tackled a job ive been pineing over for a long time

it only took about 30 mins(taking my time, watching olympics and sipping coffee) to remove the tongue and intall the new one

i super glued the tongues in place, let it fully dry and then did about 16 stiches on each tongue. these puppies arent going anywhere

it was tricky trying to maneuvre the thread inside the skate, and the lighting in my kitchen apparently is worse than i though

here is the end result

no more x60 tongues

They look good and nice job on the installation. I think I might need to invest on one of those speedy stichers. :)
A few guys on here have done some good work using that thing.
always looking for Sabres gear

its a breeze to use once you do a few stitches. it only cost me 12$ too

i went to michaels craft store today, they had a stitcher there and it was 30$$$!!

in canada i had to get it from this store called LEE VALLEY TOOLS or something....weirdest tool store i ever been to, eccentric sales person as well. lol reminded me of weird al yankovic, most awkward convo with him ever. he was explaining to me in detail on how to use a magazine i was like :wtf:

NHL teams could care less that you want a pair of brand new Warrior Luxe/Franchise custom thumb loop super custom digi toilet paper soft palm with double added reinforced custom Warrior logo backhand padding gloves or a 17 flex double kreps curve upside down toe hook stick from your fav player/team. -Bakes

I did a tongue replacement last year on some S15 skates because the stock tongue on retail ones i found out was actually a thin layer of foam stuffed inside of their bio dri liner.
I didn't use the Speedy stitcher because i can't find one in AZ so i'll probably order one after i move to my new house.
Meaning, i do it by hand wiht my own sets of needles and strings from polyester and for tougher jobs i use actually a invisible fishing line, it holds up to 15lbs of pressure for those tough jobs.

The tongues were removed from a pair of CCM 652 tacks, those tongues were amazing, i should have kept them.
So first i removed the tongue, not all the way to the toe cap like Modny did because the toe cap on retail S15 skates is a piece of shit, they glue the tongues on which was crap and the stitching you see is actually done before being planted onto the toe cap.

As you can see i cut up to the last half inch or less and split it open, and cut out all the foam and excess crap inside it. In this picture you see how much was taken off i also cut more after this picture.

After 1.5 hours for both skates combined with a thick heavy duty leather needle and pliers (after my fingers began to cramp) this is the right skate, unfortunately i dont have pictures of the top of the skate so i can't show it off, but its a straight line across

My pro S15s compared to the retail ones, right on the day i got the white ones which are now my main skate

thanks man, the White ones are the best, got those from a good friend and bought some custom+ for them, just amazing, they've taken a beating and show no damage to them at all!
