sadly today I learned that I will NOT be getting my Mako deal.
the local Easton rep who also ran the pro shop at one of the local rinks was fired for theft. not only did he take the cash of those of us who were trying to get skates but he was also skimming out of the shop register. fortunately the rink says that they've recovered the money and will send us all refunds. they tried to get Easton to honor the deal but they wouldn't.
not having the skates isn't a huge deal because I have a 2nd pair of MLX that I haven't even baked yet.
why do people have to be so stupid when it comes to money???
always looking for non Reebok L & XL shells......

Just purchased a pair of these skates and cannot say enough how great they are. Fit and comfort is absolutely amazing. The aggressive forward pitch does take a little bit to get used to, however, after one skate you should be used to it. The pitch has definitely helped to keep me off my heels. I also noticed that the design of the boot really helps promote heel lock. Not sure if the holder is offset, but I feel as if i am able to turn tighter without booting out or blowing a tire. The boot doesn't get overly warm, and I was surprised how quickly they dry after hanging them up. I am interested to see how they hold up over time as I know this has been a downfall of Easton in the past. With that said, they are by far one of the best hockey related purchases I have made.
I've been a Bauer person for most of my time skating, from X4.0's, APX's, and Total One's. Every time I would go to lace up it felt as if my foot was in a different position in the boot. I also had issues with heel lock and never truly felt comfortable in any of them. I will say that the durability of the Bauer skates is phenomenal.
BTW, coming from a Bauer size 8D, the Makos sizing is comparable. If anyone is thinking about purchasing a pair, I wouldn't hesitate.

Finally back in them this week in proper size! Pretty pumped.
My questions is has anyone went about blacking the boot? I used sharpie on my last pair on he orange. Main spots I want black are the tendon and heel that's silver. Thanks.
Just wanna know who was successful and what did you use?
