Thanks for the info Brian, I appreciate it. You sure can't beat their pricing, that's for sure. As to protective equipment I wish last night that I'd have worn my slash guards (got a pair of the blue Jofa ones on eBay a while back but normally don't use them) as some twatwaffle hacked my left wrist between the glove and elbow pad.

It happens at times with pileups in front of the net. It's cheap insurance to at least lessen the odds of a cut. When you're one who has to work to support a family you tend to look at the big picture and increase your odds of not having an injury. Yes, I have insurance... but it doesn't pay 100% of what my salary is.

This is why I wear shoulder pads when most don't (ultimately most find out the hard way)!

Nothing feels nicer than taking a shot off the chest or shoulder area... or catching a stick/puck on the collar bone, lol. There are a few in our league who don't wear shoulders and they're nuts IMO. You shoot high at them if they're playing D... :naughty:

i wear my rbk shins bc i like them, and i got them for $40 from another member, on another site - so i dont know what group i fall in for this conversation

i play in A league and B league and id say that less than 10% of the players wear shoulder pads. IMO there is no need for them if im not using my shoulders :naughty:

also about shooting high on people, does this mean you shoot at peoples skates if they arent wearing skate fenders? or slash them if they arent wearing slash guards? come on

It was a joke... thus the :naughty: after it. I'd never do that to anyone as I'd be pissed if it were done to me. I tend to play fair unless someone takes a cheap shot at me. Then I'll gladly repay them twofold. At times I do wear fenders too. Both from being in front of the other team's net as a center, and also clearing out opposing players in the slot and having their d shooting. They work very well. I got a pair after my broken left leg (at ankle area) a couple years ago and wore them all the time for extra protection for a while.

No problem, lol. The fenders work very well. I've been hit by slap shots and also slashed on top of my feet and they take care of that well too. I get shit now and then when I wear them but don't care. I've seen guys with nasty bruises and broken bones that could've been prevented by them. They don't weigh squat and fit up tight very nicely. I'm really surprised more don't wear them. Most likely it's the "that's not cool" factor. Oh well.
