Hey Guys,

I have been using a Taki mac on my sticks for quite some time now because I have found it prolongs the life of my palms. whether it actually does or not I don't know but at least it keeps my palms clean and free of tape residue.

My question is Do you think I would ruin the wooden extension in my stick applying the taki mac because of water getting into the wood?

Has anyone else put a taki mac on a wooden extension?

If anyone has any experiences with this let me know.

Thanks!

You should be fine, I've done it a few times and its never ruined my extensions, then again I only use about 2" of extension.

i have about 7 wooden plugs that i've put on every stick i've owned and they all have had a tacki mac on and off to them due to whatever stick i have, because the plugs vary from 1inch to 7 inches i cant just leave a tacki mac on em, and not a single one has cracked or anything from the water to the wood, you should be fine. The only plug i've had crack was from slamming my stick on the ice and it cracked the wood plug, more like a split

Take much time to get use to? I duno tape on my stick is pretty personal pref and I do the same all the time. Specially the knob. Does the tacki mack feel thick when on the stick? I asked my gf to pick some up for christmas for me to try.

I tried one and ended up removing it because I thought it felt too thick. I just prefer my regular tape job to Tacki Mac's.

Yeah ^ that is what I thought might happen! I use mostly grip ops and when I don't the most tape that goes on the top knob is a thin layer of grip tape. It doesn't even overlap much. So I thought tacki mac might feel like more tape.

The only Tacki mac I use is the ultra thin style. Barely has a knob either so I didnt notice a big difference. and thanks for the tips boys, it didnt effectt the wood extension at all.

To the OPs question, yes a Tacki Mac will stick on wood and the minimal amount of water won't damage the wood.

As far as feel, I've never been a huge fan of them. If had at least 8 different styles. Including pro stock ones that have different thicknesses and knobs. They all feel too thick for my liking.

i use the sand grip and just cut out the knob of it unless its the really thin knob, so its there but its not overly annoying

I've tried cutting down the knob to 1/4" or so, but still prefer tape. I guess I'm just too stuck on what I've been doing forever.

Yep, that's the truth. Surprisingly, my Kane Tacki Mac is my favorite out of them all.

i have that one on a few sticks, its a great one, my only grip is the end round butt to it ended up being so small that it dug a hole into a pair of palms so i had to cut it. other than that its a really good one

Damn. Good thing I've never used it long enough for that to happen. To be honest, I don't know the last time I wore a hole through my palms.

I've switched to tacki Mac over tape although I do prefer the sand grip one to the Kane grip. The Kane grip seemed to thick for my liking compared to the sand grip one!
