I've been keeping an eye out for Irish gear just so I have an excuse to wear that horrendously gaudy helmet.  I have to imagine they're spraypainted, no?

 

Spraypainted before each game and they use different helmets for practice.

I had step on them previously and then this happened maybe back in December, needless to say ecstatic to get back into step, I'm by no means a superstar (ask Joey and Greg), but you can tell the difference from Bauer steel.

I had Edge holders put on in October when that steel broke.

Is there a certain spray paint they use that doesn't affect the integrity of the helmets' plastics?

most of the Irish stuff I've seen lately has all been +2". I'd have zero use for that.

Where did you hear this? From what I had read they used to have an auto body shop paint on the gold and then the EQM did touch ups as needed. But it also said that they now have the color made so it's fused into the plastic and doesn't require touch ups. Just interested.

And I do know that any rustoleum paint that works on plastic won't eat away at the helmet and could be used.

A friend of a friend. I've got a buddy who played for Air Force Academy and, when he came to visit, the topic of Notre Dame's gold helmets came up in conversation. He said a buddy of his (on ND) told him they need to repaint them before each game. Maybe the "touch ups" are what he was referring to? This would have been like almost 3 years ago now though, maybe they've made some changes to make it easier on the EQM by now.

1) where did you get the bauer shoulders?

2 Are the shoulder caps typical to the size of other bauer shoulder pads. I tried on a pair of ccm shoulder pads and the profile is way nicer than what bauer has to offer as the shape is smaller and formed better. 

3) what's up with this bauer pro line? what's the story behind it?

1) sports rousseau in Laval, they have all size for $149.99 cdn

2) size seems typical, they chest part feels like the shoulder pads have been used for several years, they are broken in out of the box like any other models out there.

3) This model is made for NHL players only and was never availble at retail, at least, not that I know of.
