Must’ve been the extra set of mitts that Leetch never wore because he always looked like his gear was hanging on by a thread. Gotta imagine the EQM went through yards of thread to keep his stuff together.

Lol ya, he was traded to Toronto at the tdl so these were ordered before and arrived after and were leftover

I finally found a cage that works for me - Bauer Profile TI. It's lighter than the ReAkt with thinner bars and an oreo/i2 paint job; I can't even tell I'm wearing it on the ice. I know it doesn't look as good as the FM580 and Profile II cages, but I need to protect my jaw and the CCM FV1 shield gets too hot during summer. I found it on SLS for cheaper than the $90 retail price, but it's worth the investment if you need to wear facial protection.

Appreciated your thoughts on this. I took a puck to the mouth last Friday, and having officially entered my late 30's this summer, I've decided that I'm finally completely over getting hit in the face below my visor. Admittedly, I sprung for a Tron visor/cage combo after several regulars at the rink sung its praises, but it's good to have options to fall back on in case that one doesn't work out.

Went to an oreo cage a few years ago after some close calls that I wasn't willing to have happen again. No regrets there

- Always looking for new style stars gear, particularly Bauer!

After trying the cage out the ice for a half-ice shinny, I am very happy with it. $90 is a lot cheaper than dental/hospital bills and I could hardly tell it was on while playing. I don't play often, but when I do I can't risk re-injuring my jaw that just healed after 6+ years of hell. I also removed all the Bauer branding on mine so it would look cleaner with the CCM helmet. The fewer logos, the better.

"What is your lowest/best price?" is NOT an offer.

I had to go to a cage...my wife said if I got any uglier she couldn't go on..

I couldn't afford the divorce..
It took me about 4 weeks to adjust..

I switched to a cage about 9 years ago after I took a one timer to the teeth.  I found the Re-Akt cages worked best for me and I hardly notice the difference now.  I may have to check out this new oreo cage from Bauer.

All this talk about cages, figured I would join in. Multiple hits to the face and a few broken teeth later, I’m finally joining the cage club. Not sure why I didn’t do it way earlier. The league I play in has a lot of yahoos and play-too-hards in it so sticks get swung all over the place.
Like y’all said, it’s way cheaper than dental bills. Trust me.

Had a tooth knocked out with a high stick. Immediately put a cage on. THE NEXT GAME I got high-sticked so hard it dented the cage and made my ears ring, no doubt it would have been reconstructive surgery if the cage wasn't on.

I don't like the way it looks, but I'm ugly anyway, and I like my eyes and teeth where they're currently located.

I honestly never stopped wearing a cage (except the itech fishbowl days) since I was a kid.

can anyone help me nail down a time period for this one? my research shows that the Leafs stopped using this maple leaf in 2016 but they didn't have a stripe on their pants back then so I'm a bit confused......

I believe they went by Nike Bauer until 2008, and had the more pronounced B logo prior to that. So 2009 or after.

is it possible these shells were made for an alumni game?

the thought crossed my mind but this shell does have the current NHL shield on it. would shells for an alumni game have that one?

my other thought is that it's a sample that was never worn,

I also never stopped. No cage now though, very happy with the CCM FV1. I forget I have it on until it's needed.
