Islanders released their new 'Third' jersey today...





Personally I am not a big fan, however I dig the shout out to the other New York teams like the Mets...

What do you all think?

I do like the socks, the jerseys aren't horrible, I feel like the striping on the arms gets lost in the gloves a little. The center of the jersey looks a little boring and lacking.

They kind of have the same issue I've found with the Sharks 3rds... TOO MUCH BLACK, granted, I love black, but when you nix almost all of your teams colors... bad move IMO.

What cole will the helmets be? It's also weird to think of having a pair of black islanders pants? That's my biggest concern here haha

They are better than I thought they would be ... I think I might get one tonight at the game... I wil say I def want a pair of those pants and socks realy bad!!

Great idea, poor execution. Should have different gloves to match the jerseys to I think.

Gloves are a must change for these... black and orange looks pretty sweet, you could add some blue striping as well.

The pants have a half diamond with blue and orange that line up with the side of the jerseys half diamond design to complete the diamond design..also it is reported the helmets with still be royal blue

I was sure they were navy.

They definitely need different gloves.

The more I look at the uniforms the more incomplete they look to me. I agree with everyone about changing the gloves, a few teams have an alternate set of gloves to go with their alternate jerseys. Black gloves with orange and blue font similar to SJ wouldn't be bad and you can throw a little more color with stripes or fingers too. The pants with the diamond design doesn't sound too bad, although black with a 3 color striping down the side would look good too. I wouldn't change the socks one bit, those are my favorite part of the whole uniform. IMO the jerseys need more blue/orange/white on them. They're too black.

I wish they'd bring back the Gordon's Fisherman uniforms for an alternate, but that's just me.
