Just a thought on a possible community type project on a pro stock database to help solve questions that a lot of folks seem to have.  For example, all the different styles of CCM/Reebok pants, the different Reebok gloves (Sty 1, 2, 3, 4) etc...

 

Thoughts?

I've thought about doing this before, kinda like building a catalog of all brands and broken down by year. Including detailed pictures. The idea is amazing, but would take huge amounts of time/research and a separate database outside of sports2k. I would help in anyway I can, although I am not a gear guru.

The database isn't a bad idea, but you'd have to have the right people involved in it so everything would be factual.

Yeah, it's definitely not an easy task.  But, there are plenty of people in the know and like anything errors can always be corrected.

Cool concept. This site (in a roundabout way) already is that database. All of the information is already here, we just to figure out a way to organize it. Maybe we could get Dupes to pin a "Pro Stock FAQ" forum/section? Periodically, we could pose a different FAQ (ie difference between 520 and 7000 pants) and get people to submit sample photos and answers any questions. When we feel the question is covered, we lock it but keep it pinned for easy access. Thoughts?

Pictures and lots of information to come. If you have any good information feel free to send it to me over PM. I am going to work on this project along with some sources over the next couple weeks. Hopefully it will be a good source for the whole community. Right now I am working on sticks, as I finish those up I will move on to other types of equipment. If you guys plug in via PM and I can confirm the information is valid, I will list your username in the credits section.

I can attest to the fact that many people have invalid information. I saw a list posted on another forum that was pretty much correct that has had things added to it and been completely butchered.
