Switched from LS Fusion to the Step Steel Black steel and have been skating with them for the past 3 weeks. First thing I noticed when hopping on the ice was that I could really feel the the ice imperfections.Other than that I got used to the new steel quickly. The blades also show no sign of damage, which is quite the contrast to the LS Fusion.

Just started selling Step black edge at the shop I work at in Vancouver. Can't wait to finally try it out.
Please keep us updated on how they feel/perform. I have ordered a pair as well.

That guy was a complete dick to me. I ordered candy cane red wings, full stripe 67's and centennial Montreal socks, and somehow he sent me regular-ass red Canadiens socks. I know I ordered the right ones, but he claimed I ordered the most common sock on the planet, and paid shipping from Canada for them. He wouldn't do anything as far as returning the socks or give me any credit toward ordering the right ones.
Maybe I'm just used to pro-stock edge style socks, but they seemed like they started looking frayed and old within a month or two. They do look great from a distance tho, and I couldn't find a single other place to get them. I'd prolly be happier with the experience if I were in Canada and didn't have to pay such high shipping costs.
Did you place your order by phone?
So far I cant complain about the quality of the socks as I have only worn them a few times.

Was gonna suggest waxed laces, but you mentioned you tried that.
Might want to try lacing your skates based on one of these
