Can you LHS profile your steel? Sounds like you have gaps where the blade isn't touching the ice. Could be why you feel like you are losing your edge even though the edges are stil good on the steel.

Also skates were 75 used and 150 new. It was the one good thing I picked up at the sale. Dmitri Kulikov 1N skates with black step steel and they are barely used.
