Price gouging on a neck guard: https://sidelineswap...-neck-protector

Only trying to double his profits!! MSRP $74.99

There is definitely a shortage but no need for that price.

I truly wasn't sure which thread to put this in.....

CTHockey has some great 2023 Bruins Winter Classic stuff but some of those prices, $500 for gloves from a guy who didn't even play?!

I obviously don't have to explain to you guys how SLS works but we don't want to leave any money on the table with certain items. And no one has ever offered more then our asking price on SLS so we have to start somewhere and see what people are wiling to spend. Few people have paid our asking price off SLS so while it might seem high to some, others might see them as a solid collectors item.

If interested in something from us on SLS or our website just message me here or call the store and we'll see what we can do.

I just can't imagine trying to sell an entire professional locker room through an app full of teenagers. Funny stuff.

This guy needs to learn what the terms "pro stock" and "new" mean. If it's used in any capacity, it's not new. If it's readily available on the retail market, it's not pro stock or AHL issued. https://sidelineswap...ocker/Goodyband

Gotta love him calling retail gloves, "Florida Panthers" and "Providence Bruins, lol.

In Topic: How to Ship Sticks

15 April 2023 - 05:07 PM

We ship a few hundred sticks a month. Use to order custom card board boxes (9x2x68) that cost around $3-4 each when buying in qty's of 300+. At one point I looked into rolls of black poly tubing and it came out to around $.25 per stick so we went that route. I have a few manufacturers that mail us sticks this way so I figured we'd do it too. We experienced just as much breakage using the custom cardboard boxes as we do the black poly tubing, whether its a pissed off USPS worker or the stick getting stuck on the conveyer belts at the sort facilities, we could never figure out how they were exactly breaking. We have stuck with the black poly tubing for years now and most customers are fine with it. Every once in a while you'll get "that customer" that'll complain about the packaging but they are far and few.

As far as pricing goes USPS now has their "ballon fee" for anything over 40" combined dimensions or somewhere around that, which ends up being $15 on top of the normal shipping fee. $25 is pretty much the standard fee to ship a stick close to you. For us to ship a stick from CT to Cali could cost around $35-40 now.

One loop hole you can try is to print your own label at home and fudge the dimensions of the stick so it comes out under the 40" combined. Depending how intense your USPS employee is it will usually just get scanned in and be on its way. However I've received a few shipping dimension audits lately from USPS charging us more due to under weighted packages or under sized dimensions of packages. Not sure if they've updated their computer scan system so they're similar to UPS/Fedex but we have definitely received more audits then normal this past year.
