It depends on who you're sending money to. We don't use e transfer in the States. PayPal is usually the norm. My suggestion would be to send money as goods and pay the extra 4% to have the protection. I only usually send as gift if it's a small amount, or I know the person well/they have a great track record on the site. I apply the latter part for trades as well.
For shipping sticks: a couple layers of bubble wrap and tape it all down. My thought is if something is forceful enough to break a stick in transit, a box really doesn't provide that much protection. Plus they're large and a pain to store.
Custom gloves being sold as pro returns. They're wrong on so many levels: not narrows, the Canadian Warrior plant closed long before 2017, Patches switched to QRLs before this game happened, and there are other custom made "Pacioretty" gloves in plenty of other team colors that were custom made.
