They have the same fit and last. The Mako M8's are made with a different carbon material, so they're slightly heavier and a bit less stiff. They both have carbon midsoles, unlike the plastic midsoles of the M7. The Mako II's are a bit more comfortable, but I love both skates and use the M8's for pond hockey. If you're a casual player/beer leaguer, you probably won't notice a big difference between the two.

Tackla 3D Breezer girdle and shell, size medium. This girdle was used for a few games and is in good overall shape. This girdle was made in Finland and is high quality, very lightweight, and mobile. Two small segmented pads on the sides were removed because they got in the way of the shell. This does not affect the protection or performance and is just cosmetic. Loops were sewn on so CCM, Warrior, and Bauer shells could be worn with this girdle. A few tiny wear spots were sewn up due to personal preference, but there is no damage. These won't be seen with the shell on and have zero affect on performance, but I disclosed this fact for transparency. Includes a matching medium Tackla Breezer shell, which had the logo removed to create an all-black shell. Medium girdle shells from CCM, Warrior, and Bauer work very well on this shell, although there are no velcro loops. Originally paid $199 + tax. I can't comment on the True holders since I bought a model with Lightspeed Edge holders, but I love my pair. I've done many holder swaps from the True holders to Edge and XS holders because people like to stick with what they know. As for the skates themselves: don't judge the fit of them out of the box because they need to be baked to fit properly. My toes were jammed against the toe boxes when I first tried them, but they now fit like a glove after a bake with the saran wrap method. They are much lighter than my previous models of Trues and are built better than the retail Catalyst 9's, which also fit me very well.

I'd go with the same size. If you want the Hyperlite 2's, I'd recommend getting a 6 and putting a powerfoot insert in the smaller foot.
