Hi all,

I've read through a lot of the threads about various CCM pro stock pants, though most of them have been from 2016 and prior.

I've had 2 hip surgeries and looking for basically the "beefiest" pro pant CCM makes and with a high back would be preferred.
I'm currently in the CCM HP 45X pant and those seem to have pretty good hip and thigh protection but not so much in the rear.

Here are some of the CCM models I've seen on the net but not in person, besides the 45X... I'm hoping with the knowledge that everyone on this site has, can give me some insight on the pants.

HPUCLX

HP45X

HP70CX-XTRA

HP35CX-XTRA

HP32 I've been told these are beefy and currently being used in the ECHL

I only added the X and XTRA's to the list being those are more beefy than their non- X pant.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Brian

Does it have to be CCM? Warrior Hustler/Franchise are the heaviest padded pants with highest back that I’ve used.

Fooj, PittFan8,

Thanks for replying. I've not tried the 9K, I assume that's a Reebok pant from a quick ebay search?

It doesn't necessarily have to be CCM... I needed to pick one brand and figure them out before asking about another brand. That said, I noticed pro stock hockey has both the Franchise and Hustler's. Can you by chance tell me what the differences are in those 2 pants?

Thanks

I’m no expert as far as technicalities go. I’ve worn both and I would say they’re very similar.

Hustlers were an older model. They seem to have a normal size leg opening and high spine protection on the back and the hip/kidney pads are high all the way up.

Franchise seemed to fit slightly larger than hustlers. Leg opening seemed slightly wider to me and the kidney protection are tapers down from the back to the front. I’m sure you could see what I mean in pictures.

Personally I like hustlers more. Protection wise I’d say they’re about equal and they’re definitely heavier pants compared to most others.

Bauer supreme pro stock pants may also be a good option.

In CCM id go with HP70CX-XTRA,

HP30 or 31 is what you’re looking for (WHL)

You honestly can’t go wrong with the 9k girdle (yep Reebok) if you like the fit. They are tanks.

Could be worth considering then Nexus line too. I’ve used the retail 1N pants and rate them. IMO they have the best rear and spine protection out of pants I’ve used so far. Unfortunately the retail version wore out pretty fast and it’s difficult finding their pro stock at times.

HP30/32/35’s (I used 35’s last season) are great all rounders.

I’m currently breaking in some pro stock supremes (model before one95, 1N etc) and I don’t really rate their rear padding that much if I’m being honest.. Although I also wouldn’t rule out that my ass might be too big for the tailbone piece.. They don’t have an extended spine guard either. The overall fit is good though and the front, hip and thigh protection is off the chain!

If it means anything, I’m actually looking to try some HP70’s myself because they look like they have better rear padding than the supremes while offering a similar fit/protection :)

I can’t speak to the other CCM’s as I haven’t used them.
