It was bought on a site that caters to collectors, so if it truly was worth $500+, then it would’ve sold for that much through Meigray.

@Evanblake,
No one told him he couldn't ask whatever price he wanted for the pants. In fact, I'm a firm believer in the free market and believe that you can ask $1MM for a pair of pants if you think it's justified, but the market will ultimately decide that. If you go back and read, you'll see that the advice given to him was that this probably isn't the place to try and flip a pair of Tom Wilson pants at a collector's price. You're the one who came in and started attacking, calling all of 2k cheap.
Sounds like you have a lot of experience with being wrong on gear, I wonder how much money you've lost. Is that why you get so defensive when someone balks at paying double what you paid for a piece of gear you're trying to flip because it was worn twice during a season they won The Cup?
That said, I think you're right - you probably do know a lot more about collecting than I do because, judging how "wadded" up (am I using that right?) you've become on a conversation about a piece of gear you have no stake in, it appears that this is all you do. I buy pieces of gear that I will wear to shinny so I can look like I know what I'm doing and I think that's what the majority of this forum is about. If it's not, then I am more than willing to apologize to everyone for getting in the way of their dreams to strike it big re-selling pro stock gear online.
I'll leave it at this: I think you ought to go talk to someone, you seem to project your inadequacies and insecurities on others pretty regularly. I hope you can afford it with all the overpriced gear you're scooping up. If not, I wouldn't post your GoFundMe on here, after all, we're all a bunch of cheap chumps.
@Kabbage1,
Sorry for derailing your thread, hope you have better luck selling these pants.
