For those that are looking to get equipment altered or repaired, this place may be able to help you out. This is a shop my buddy recently opened, he used to work for the St. Louis Blues. He does skate and equipment restorations and modifications as well as shot blockers, sewing, binding etc...He doesn't have an actual website up yet but if you search "SkateTech...." on Facebook he has a page with a bunch of pics and a full description of what he can do. Hopefully he can help a few of you out with some repairs. Not quite sure how to post a link so if someone checks it out that knows how post the link feel free.

For those of you looking to get glove mods and other work done to your gear, check out the latest work by Skate Tech. Skate Tech also just added Ex-NHL EQM of about 20+ years Bert Godin to its staff. So now they have 2 Ex-NHL EQM’s ready to fix and modify whatever you may need. Check them out!

I'm sending my skates in to have the UltraStop shot blockers installed. I'll post the results when I receive them back.

Nice! I've been thinking of having the same thing done. We had a guy on our Beer League team go down with a broken ankle after a blocked shot and I know my Mako's provide pretty much zero in terms of protection. Definitely let us know how it turns out.

I had mine done on pro stock jet speeds ( pictures above ). Chad does very clean work , have not been hit with a shot yet. A lot of pro's have this done , we just don't notice them on the skates.

Here are my skates with the shot blockers installed. I'll write an update after I receive them back and skate with them a few times.

Received my QRL cuff roll swap + added poly inserts project  back Today. Chad made the inserts cover the whole face of cuff roll. they are wide & then get narrow. very neat work.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   med_gallery_1862_1395_360229.jpgmed_gallery_1862_1395_742112.jpg

Update: the shot blockers are much lighter than I expected. They have squishy padding in between the liner and the boot. I haven't taken any shots off the foot yet, knock on wood.

A+ service and work from Chad.

I have these on a couple pair of skates, all game used pro skates. What does it run to get these made?

I talked to Chad last week while playing out in St. Louis. He said $30 per side of the skate, so $120 for the pair.

Sent Chad a pair of 1X skates with the top injected eyelids broken and blown out. He reinforced the break and installed 3 traditional eyelits. Great craftsman ship, solid repair, extremely fair pricing, and best of all great communication through the process!! Would highly recommend Chad and Skatetech!

https://m.facebook.c...zU4ODY3NTg5MDc= My buddy chad just renovated his entire shop. Video is kinda long but fast forward to about 4 min in and he goes over everything he offers. Chad is an ex-NHL equipment manager and has ex-Head NHL equipment manager Bert Godin working with him. Check him out! He does everything!

Anyone wanting to try pro curves that are in the opposite hand or just aren’t around anymore this may be an option for you. 65-120 flex with 2 different height options. Contact Chad for more details.

Was scratching my head when I saw this. Anyone can order these sticks directly from www.prostockhockeysticks.com so not sure why someone would pay $40 more to order them from Chad. Not knocking the business at all, think he does a awesome job but don't see this working too well.
