BASE Hockey has just launched its brand new website, featuring a completely overhauled ordering system and seamless mobile compatibility, among other things. I've written a blog post explaining the main aspects here, so check it out if you want to order custom sticks, blades, shafts, or just do some online window-shopping.

Was checking it out yesterday. One thing I noticed is that shipping for blades is the same as sticks. Not complaining, but maybe something to look at as it was cheaper on the old site. It wanted over $30 to ship a single blade when I went on last night. Likely just a programming issue. I may be wrong though if something changed.

Love BASE products. I'm hooked! New website looks great! Wishing you the best!

Also, another thing I noticed is the BC71 is not listed in the "Curve Comparison" chart. Not sure if that was on purpose or not. It allows me to select it to make a purchase.

Just trying to help!

Anybody have any experience with the new Reign LT stick? Also, has anybody tried the Polar Fibre grip, it sounds cool but i'd like to see it and hear some feedback before committing that much coin into it.

Always looking for Bauer NXG or MX3 gloves!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into all that and post here.

Obviously I'm not an unbiased observer, but I can shed some light on both of those questions.

Here's an article about Polar Fibre, and I'll post the one I wrote about the LT as soon as it gets (re)uploaded to the new site. Personally the LT is my favourite stick, and I especially like the feel (dampened, but not dead, and definitely not ceramic - very close to the Nasty R). It's also very light without feeling insubstantial. I liked Polar Fibre but personally I prefer Grip Powder Matte, which I see as a more durable and nicer-feeling version of Warrior's Velvet grip. One misconception I can dispel about Polar Fibre is that it doesn't wreck your glove palms - it's not sharkskin coating.

I have had 4 Base Polar Fibre shafts. They are very nice. Makes playing with anything else difficult for me.

If you are coming from a traditional tacky coating, you will notice PF allows your hand to move more. But when you really clamp down, it has the same "stick" as a grip coating.

I also personally feel that Polar Fibre transferred energy/feel from the blade better to my hands than a standard grip shaft. I moved the same blade from a Dolo grip shaft to a Nasty R PF and noticed improved feel. Same flex. Maybe I drank the kool aid?

Just cause I like variety, I just ordered a Supernatural shaft in the grip powder matte finish so I can compare a little. I have read a lot of posts about it and it sounds like a good go-between PF and standard grip.  I'll let you know the results in a month or so when everything shows up!

The blade shipping issue is a technical bug with the new site that is being worked out. There will be a reduced rate according to box size in the near future. In the meantime, you can contact info@basehockey.ca or use the live chat feature to place a blade order with the right shipping cost.

As for BC71 not being in the pattern chart, that's just an oversight that should be corrected soon. As you noticed, it is still available for purchase.

I have a BC27. Its a fairly awesome pattern to use. The curve is fairly flat through the heel portion and then really bends hard towards the mid-toe. The blade face opens up as well, but its not crazy open like an old Ovechkin Pro Stock or anything. It also has a lot of rocker to it. Its listed as lie 5.5, but depending on how you use, it can play a lot lower. If you like toe curves, give it a try.

Awesome! Thank you. I figured it was just a bug. And glad to see the BC71 is staying around!

UPDATE: Blade-only shipping has been fixed on the BASE USA site. Blade orders should now have the proper shipping for US customers. We're working on the Canadian site, and it should be fixed as well soon.

Thread is 4 years old and got bumped by a spam bot. From what I heard Base went under and took a lot of people's money in the process without completing orders. Not sure what the whole story is or if they ever made it right.
