I have zero respect for John Scott. He is what the 2nd biggest guy in the league and he goes after phil kessel when fraser mclaren isnt in the line up? What a loser, other than that we saw old time hockey tonight!

One of the Leafs guys Devane went after and fought a smaller Sabres player in Tropp. Why didn't that guy ask Scott to fight? He went after a smaller guy so I guess Scott decided to do the same. Plus the leafs are on home ice and don't they get the last line change? The question is why in the heck does the coach leave him out there with Scott?

Tropp wasn't exactly against fighting. They both decided to fight.
Carlyle said that he figured putting out the Kessel line would defuse any shit from happening.

Tropp started that fight. Watch the video, and you'll see he grabs Devane and drops his gloves first. Definitely wasn't Devane going after Tropp.

Yeah true I didn't see that and not the smartest move by Tropp. His head smakced the ice at the end and most likely concunssion.

It's all good! I'm sorry if I came off strong there.
I look forward to meeting the Sabres again. Scott is gonna get his just desserts.
Also, Kessel looked a lumberjack out there. He's gonna get what's coming to him too.
Clarkson gets an automatic 10 game suspension for leaving the bench illegally.

Kessel is getting a little too fond of swinging his stick at people.Not that I think its classy or right that someone who is Scotts size is picking a fight with Lil' Kessel but that stick swing crap Kessel does is a really shitty move ( IMHO 
) .

I don't have a problem with Kessel swinging his stick while he is trying to get away from Scott - almost like a defence mechanism but when some Leaf grabs Scott and Kessel swings again that was a little bush league.

I wonder when the NHL is going to start cracking down on players use of stick work like they do hits. Kessel didn't need to slash him twice, Hall chopped Michalek last season as hard as he could, Kassian broke Gagner jaw last night with a high stick.

We probably won't ever see them. I'd guess they're used in training sessions. We've worn them for our association to help younger officials.
