Does anybody else think this recent explosion of retail products is alittle ridiculous? Bauer with 7 skates over $500 and 3 full lines of protective that all look the same? What the hell is that? Also Easton with all these "new" models and CCM and Reebok releasing shit all the time. Doesnt seem like companies are making good choices with tons of lines and changes, I think just 2 max would be plenty considering how many brands there are. Money money money i guess.
Companies trying too hard

Different lines with different fits so that makes sense. Not everyone can afford to buy top end so they have to offer gear at various price points. The biggest change is certain companies going to a 1 year product life cycle instead of 2 years.

It all just seems like a whole bunch of gimmicks, deep down i didnt want to think that my favorite companies are just the same as all the money grabbing people in the world. I get all the "different fit" or "price point", but that kinda gets tossed out the window when they keep last years top model, change the graphics and just bump up the price to have 3 top end skates in one line? I actually like that they keep the x60 in, but now since they remade the apx its just stupid. Im not saying more choices are bad, just too many choices fog up the market. I wish i could put these thoughts in to better words but oh well, I remember when it was easy to follow whats going on, Bauer for narrow feet, and CCM for wide haha
