Seriously, what the hell was Bauer thinking?

Possibly the most accurate thing ever said here. Bauers quality control and give a shit factor for consumers is at an all time low and will only continue to sink as long as people keep purchasing inferior products due to their name sake.

Yep, I agree with everything you guys said.  As a guy who really loves some of his slightly older Bauer gear, it really seems like a lot of their stuff is getting worse every single year.

 

Anyway, to get back on topic, Calgary NXGs would be amazing, but this would be nice substitute:

Late to the party but yeah the mx3 retail mitts are awful. My personal pair got a hole in the palms after a tournament. Also a customer at our store went through 2 pairs in 2 weeks because the material tore after a pickup each pair
