Cutting Thumb Loops

I've seen in on many pro stock gloves, but never understood: What's the advantage of cutting thumb loops? More mobilty?

Exactly, it gives you more mobility and better grip on your stick.

I think it is exactly that, I now do it to all mine. Just makes it feel less, "locked in".

Yeah I cut all of mine but it also means you can breaks. Thumb much easier but I couldn't ever go back so oh we'll

i did it once, to try it, took a slap shot and the thumb moved awkwardly and had to wrap my thumb for a while and sewed them back up, no thanks for me, might work for others but that lesson was learned by me that it wont work to me

I've never cut any of my own gloves, but I have gloves I took on trade with cut thumb loops. I don't mind the way it feels, but I'd never do it to any of my own.
