[Golden Gate Sharpening]

These were like 4 years in the making, from finding appropriate donor gloves to getting the embroidery files digitized and then stitched out, then sent off to CPR.

Good for you. That takes commitment. I'd be too worried about messing up the thumb badges. I would put them in a display case somewhere.

 

Where'd you source the material for the thumbs? Or were they the originals just removed and embroidered?

I cannibalized another pair of TML gloves for the fabric patches. I am not knowledgeable enough with how these gloves are constructed to be able to carefully take them apart to use the original fabric, and I was worried even if I could do it that the original fabric would be too small for the embroidery machine.

This is my first time sending gloves to Pat and I have to say his work is absolutely impeccable! The customer service is also top-notch and Ken is a very nice guy to talk to. Now all I need is an open rink so I can use them on ice! Here's the mod list and pics

Nothing crazy for this pair. The original palms and gussets were beige clarino and I was a fan of them, so I had Pat switch them to black clarino palms with overlays and -1/4" black stretch gussets (-1/2" at the finger tips)

- Gussets trimmed by 1/4"

- Dark grey clarino palms with overlays

 

 

I spent quite a long time to decide what mods I want on these two Warrior gloves, and I'm really happy with how they turn out

 

Marchand AX1

 

- Bolland upper cuff with kovy undercuff

- Easton black tufftek tabs

- Silvershield backhand liner

- -1/4" tapered black sponge mesh gussets (-1/2" at the finger tips)

- Sport Gold AX Suede palm (base of the palm reduced to 2.5")

- Black Clarino kovy overlay and thumb overlay

 

 

Andrighetto QRL

 

- Full Easton cuff with Anisimov elastic on the undercuff

- -1/4" dark grey sponge mesh gussets (-1/2" at finger tips)

- Dark grey Clarino palm (base of the palm reduced to 2")

- Black Clarino kovy overlay and thumb overlay

Didn’t know they were doing leather gussets again! Would have requested leather fingertips on my gloves...

Pat strikes once again!

 

I grabbed these off eBay for $45 and they were pretty dirty.  Thankfully they weren't beat up, just needed a wash.

They had two different widths.  The left hand was narrow, and the right was wide.

 

Pat worked wonders on them.

Nice to see this thread being updated more frequently. Hopefully the NHL doesn't resume next season until mid 2021 so we can get more of our gloves in and out

In general I stay with tapered black gloves, so green 4 rolls are a bit of a departure for me, but figured I’d go with something a little looser and brighter for roller. Super fast turnaround from CPR!

 

AX Suede palms and new liners

Dark Grey Micronash palm with double layer on the left palm.

Minus 1/4'' fingers.

Minus 1/2'' at the base of the palm.

Thicker liners inside.

Looking for top hand overlay suggestions. I grip fairly hard. Didn't like the spider I got last time for the overlay. I want to do digital and with a thicker but flexible overlay. Ax suede may be? What do you guys think?

You can consider nash grip as an option. It has the same texture as digital and is pretty thick (1mm)

Very cool to have those guys near me, yellow ax suede installed on both pairs.
Black 1S is 13 inch, canucks 1S is 14 but pat installed 13” palms and gussets so they fit closer to 13” gloves. On their way back now! Cant wait!
