He's gone for half the season.

They got it right IMO.

Fun fact from Twitter: 3rd longest suspension in NHL history, behind Mcsorley's one year ban in 2000, and Billy Coutu's lifetime ban in 1927.

Good.

Every suspension or warning or fine he gets is for hits to the head. Guy can't figure out how to not due it and is a safety issue for anyone playing against him.

It's time for Raffi to pack it in for good.  He is of little benefit to his team on the ice and to players on the other team he is down right dangerous.

I feel the same way as you guys do. All these 3-5 game suspensions were a joke. You could possibly do some very irreversible damage to another player and they suspend you for such little time.

It's about time someone made an example of a player to show the league that they now mean business.

On the plus side, now a roster spot opens up for a real player.

I hope Torres is done! When he's back, place him on waivers and bury him in the minors for the rest of the season. He is UFA for next season and I seriously doubt any team would be dumb enough to give him a contract...

The odds of him coming back are slim I would say. It would be in the best interest of the players, the NHL and the NHLPA if he retired.

- Always looking for new style stars gear, particularly Bauer!

He isn't listed on the Sharks roster. Kind of hard to be suspended from the NHL when you're not on an NHL team.

So I think SJ is basically paying him to not pay and when he becomes a free agent at the end of the year, IF a team (for whatever reason) wanted to sign him, he'd have to serve his suspension then. But I highly doubt that'll happen. This has essentially ended his NHL career.

Hell yes.

To do anything even questionable after that Hossa hit is just unbelievable. How it could even be possible to go and get yourself a 25-game suspension for a 4X-combo-action assault on an opponent and then come back and do it again (in preseason!) is very hard to fathom. He definitely should be gone for good.
