I guess the only good thing about all this is that their not going to get rid of the brand. At least sticks and other key items will still be available and branded Easton.
The bad thing about al this is that Bauer is now that much stronger.

Safe to say that Bauer's market share in sticks is greater than Easton right now...both pro and retail.

Oh I don't think Easton sticks are going to be around. I think we all saw this episode before, remember Mission? Mako's will go the way of the NME skate and cleared out at an online retailer. And Bauer isn't going to let another line of sticks canabalize their existing products and the legend of the synergy will be exiled to some distant planet of the Galaxy.

No doubt in that, I've just always thought the Easton product was a better performing then anything Bauer put out.

Hopefully someone steps their game up soon. Bauer is starting to form a monopoly in the hockey world. Soon everyone will be paying $300+ for sticks and $1000+ for skates not because they want to but because it's the only choice they have.

Sucks for the employees at Easton, they pretty much all got canned

Bauer already stated they were keeping the Easton name and sticks. It's not cannabalising when all the money from sales is going into the same bank account. Eventually it will just be Bauer tech, Easton paint

Yep. Headquarters are 5 minutes from my house and Thursday morning no more cars.

Since Easton no longer produces the Lidstrom/Getzlaf curve, my sole concern at this point is the Mako skates. Just bought two pairs, and the source I got them from has a lot more in stock in my size, which I will buy out in time. However it would be nice to know if Bauer will move forward with a Bauer Mako (Ignite, Quest, Flexlite, Technoflex, Flak) or whatever name they own as a replacement or an addition to the current skate lines.

Having that information may deter me from buying close out Easton Mako's short term.
