Just wanted to review a recent purchase. Recently i bought a couple sticks from a member here, a couple of Matt Luff pro stock CCM Super Tacks. After going to an AHL game in San Jose, i noticed many players using a taller blades. I have also noticed the taller blades growing on a lot of players in the NHL. I was eager to try out a stick with the max blade height, and i'm glad i did.

At first i thought it was going to be a "mental issue" with a taller blade when it comes to shooting and passing, but i didn't feel a difference. Unfortunately i was only able to use the stick for a couple shifts before someone slew foot me and i crashed into the boards

IMO, the taller blade could help your game when it comes to rebounds and receiving bad passes, im sure i will get chirps for posting this but i could care less. But if you have some interest in trying out one do it.

My Galchenyuk pro twig has a taller blade than any stick I’ve ever used and I couldn’t even tell when I was out there #beerleaguetho

I've seen a couple max height pro twigs and a few ccm's I saw had a "P28M" curve. That curve looks exactly the same as the P28 but has basically no rocker in the heel or toe making it look huge. Was curious about if it would make a difference.

Last year I made my custom sticks with max blade height.

The biggest reason why I chose that was to create top-heavy condition for well handling or receiving. Also it's better to be able to achieve larger area which touch the puck easier than low-height blades.

i believe the Luff pattern is similar to the P28 but when you measure the height is 3” from heel to about where the toe curves

it's not stock, it's a booking pattern, but yes it will be available to a certain extent.

Booking? Is that the same as MTO?

Custom everything.

It is not

Good Idea; Whistling while you work.

Bad Idea; Whistling while you eat.

What are the lie and curve like? Looks like Datsyuk's blades! Maybe just a little shorter?

Booking is the period where all the accounts place their pre-orders.  They get a greater discount compared to ordering at a later date.  Manufacturers can better gauge how much product to make.  You'll see MTO a lot for team ordered equipment like the Bauer IMS 11.0 helmets.  They'll be Made To Order.

If your bag has wheels, you don't.

Thanks for the info! So if a store doesn't order enough units in the booking period, and the particular model they want is booking only (like Adam said), are the SOL for getting more of that particular item?

Custom everything.

not necessarily, if you order outside of booking you only have access to inventory that Bauer has on hand and the unit cost is different

This blade's base is pro stock Phil Kessel.

I added 5mm to toe, and of course added as it would be max height.

Not limit to this blade, I think it's hard to say exactly "lie" angle of current hockey blades because 99% or more have rocker on their bottom. Especially Kessel's blade have typically heel rocker on it.

So I took some pictures before I added putty on the blade. The pictures were taken different angle according to shaft lie.

Very high quality post. Fascinating to see how you tweaked the pattern yourself - awesome work! Approximately how much time did it take you? I hope you'll keep posting your custom sticks on S2K in the future.
