Can I turn a reebok 2 piece bottom into a girdle shell?

I do have a pair of plain black reebok mhp520s in medium. Can I take them apart, remove the thigh guards, and use the bottoms for a shell? Are there any tricks, or anything I need to know to make this work? I know regular girdles have some kind of attachment velcro tabs and kidney guards, but from the pictures of the girdle I should be pretty well protected I think. On the bottoms, it looks like the thigh guards can be removed easily, and I could possibly cut the back of the leg padding out if needed, or leave it in. I am not sure what a shell covers as far as padding.
So any advice, help, tips, tricks, etc would be appreciated. Thanks as always!

As far as separating the lowers from the uppers, Im not sure how much you know about two piece pants but you simply unbutton the pieces from eachother at the belt. The lowers have a belt already so just tighten that puppy up around the girdle and you should be set to go. I dont think the velcro tabs should cause you any trouble.

The MHP7000s are decent for girdles
The 7000s I own dont have removable thigh pads though. Unless he wants to cut them out, but why ruin a pair of pants

as I said in the past some of my issues have been being way too tall for the small pants, but much too skinny for the medium pants. I've tried to do retail medium pants and someone actually asked me if I was wearing goalie pants they look so huge on me, and someone said the measurements for the 9k girdle medium was 33 to 36 on the waist... so I have no choice but to try small with a medium bottom of a 2 piece with the thigh padding removed. Details to follow soon.
