Not quite in the mountains (more like in the farm fields), but had the best time playing in a 3 v 3 tourney with guys I play with regularly. All guys over 30, with plenty of beer during and after. Definitely the most fun I've had playing hockey in the last several years. One of the guys in our group set up a beautiful rink with lights and a drinking tent with bar and all.
Nice! Also, very cool and very strange to see Bears gear so far from south central PA.
As for me, I had a little outdoor 3-on-3 tournament action myself a few weeks back myself:

How pure is the water that you guys used to make that ice? Can’t even tell there’s ice there!
Ha! That's because there's not much ice there at all. What you're seeing there is actually a rink-length puddle from the ice that melted on account of the sun reflecting off the boards. Let's just say we avoided skating along that side of the rink if it could be helped.
Another fun fact: I'm reasonably sure this was the occasion where I almost ate shit because I thought the puddle was shallower than it really was. Ever walk down a flight of stairs and miss a step? Same terrifying sensation.

Full Disclosure: I actually almost always rock a visor, as the thought of an errant stick/puck causing me to lose an eye is pretty horrifying. The problem is that the one visor I own is currently fitted to my white helmet. Well, since I got assigned to the yellow team, and since I figured the tournament would be relatively low-risk due to the toned down rules compared to men's league play, I opted to rock the yellow one. Also, I'm incredibly lazy.
Ironically, I was probably far more in danger of losing an eye in that tournament due to the ice being as bad as it was, plus even without slap shots, there were still a few glory-seeking hot dogs seeing if it was possible to rifle a wrist shot all the way to a small Philippine village.
Thankfully, my face was made no more or less hideous during the tournament and people thought my color matched helmet was pretty cool. Was it really the smart thing to do, though? Probably not.

Funny story from men's league tonight. The game totally went sideways (40 year olds versus 18 year olds who were doing cellys and chirping the whole game, you imagine what came next). There's a couple tussles, and the other center comes up to me and we lock up. He's like, "hey is that Hershey Bears gear?" I said yeah. "Whoa that's cool, did you play for them?" Ha, no, you've seen me play for three periods, come on now. Anyways as other dudes are pushing and shoving, me and this guy are tied up behind the net having a conversation about the Bears and why I like their gear. Hahaha.

"Whoa that's cool, did you play for them?"
I've gotten that question when wearing a set. I'm not terrible at hockey, but I'm like..."Have you seen a professional player before?"

Nice job mdwsta4!
Thanks for sharing! I wouldn’t have seen that otherwise since I have a different handle on IG and wasn’t tagged. That was easily the best lake I have ever skated on in my life. Wish every place was like this all the time!!
