What do you think will be the new normal for hockey?
No showers at the arena?
Mandatory visor?

I'd say no handshakes and personal water bottles are almost guaranteed

our players here are champing at the bit to play. the fact that our idiot governor decided it was time to re-open some businesses, despite the fact that our state is in the top 10 of infections and we locked down later than most places, doesn't help.
about half of our rinks have said they are closed until "further notice" which is at lease which makes it easy on the league to not have to make the decision. one of our board officers said something back in March, "sometimes hockey players need to be saved from themselves." he was exactly right.

No showers after hockey would probably make me not want to play. I understand why they'd have to do it that way but fuck, going home with dried sweat in my normal clothes is absolutely disgusting. I'd actually lean more to not playing if there's no showers and i probably have the cleanest gear on this forum cause i clean my gear all the time.
But if we were at a point where there were no showers allowed then we probably wouldn't be allowed to play hockey either cause you're too close to everyone on the ice anyways. Plus all the retards spitting on the ice everywhere.

I can’t recall the last time I showered at the rink as an adult. I wear long base layers top and bottom and everything gets put into a laundry bag in the locker room. I have a towel to wipe myself dry with and wear athletic shirts/shorts to/from the rink. Only thing that’s sweaty at that point is my boxers. As soon as I get home I hang up my gear to dry, take washables inside, then hop in the shower before bed.
Maybe having lived a few blocks or a few miles from rinks makes this choice easier for me. It’s not like I’m commuting 30 minutes or more home

as a female I find it almost impossible to shower at the rink because a) rinks here don't have women's locker rooms, b) I like being with my team so I wouldn't use it anyway. you miss so much if you dress separately and c) the showers at the some of the rinks here are DISGUSTING.

We have several ladies on our beer league team and they dress in the same room. We wait for them to shower first. Never been an issue.

Some leagues in the states are reopening this weekend:
https://thehockeynew...ey-rinks-in-u-s
"he and his staff are doing everything they can to ensure the patrons are safe, right down to having the referees wear masks and use electronic whistles. Players are asked to dress as much as they can at home and to show up to the rink no more than 15 minutes before their game starts. They cannot shower at the rink and must leave within 15 minutes of the end of their game. Each person entering the rink will have his or her temperature taken. Games will be spaced out 45 minutes apart and each team will use two dressing rooms to ensure social distancing. Dressing rooms will be thoroughly cleaned with a disinfectant mist before, during and after each game."
