Ignoring the circle logo, if the new adidas practice jerseys are built like the WCOH ones, then I think they'll grow on most people. They're very nicely made.

I wonder if a company like TRUE or Warrior will go hard after Ovi to make them their signature athlete. Doesn't he have a Nike deal as well?

He did sign a contract with Nike. Not sure if that was connected to the Bauer deal in any way cause from what I remember it was around when Nike was getting out of the Nike Bauer branding. I agree that he could do great things for CCM, they are closing the gap on Bauer but still have a ways to go. But Ovi would be another big name to go along with McDavid, Crosby, Burns, Thornton, JT etc. I would be interested to see if another company makes a run. I would think it would be Warrior cause they seem to have more resources from what I can see.

also:  he signed his 6 year deal with bauer in sept '11.  Not sure how it was set up but his contract could be up.  Will be interesting to see if he starts messing around with other sticks, gloves..etc. in game.

Bauer has already replace his name on the p92 curve with Mathews.

Ovi using TRUE would be huge for the company. Could they afford him? What are their earnings like currently? Being relatively young in the hockey market I'd wager it's only a few 10-mil gross (though with the VH acquisition they'll start bringing in more money).

In my opinion my opinion True screwed themselves getting involved with VH. Now if they want ovechkin they're going to try to get him to do sticks and gloves and skates... skates are where many guys draw the line. With how custom some guysget gloves they can all feel relatively the same and every company has a way to copy the flex point of one stick to another to make them close for the right money most guys will use almost any stick and gloves but skates are very personal and most guys I know aren't looking to switch or try new things if they are happy currently. Should only offer sticks and gloves to players and then allow them to sign secondary deals for helmets and skates if they're in a market that allows that, like Mitch marner.

Warrior would be huge to get him, but could be hard. Their apparel company is New Balance, so depending on his deal with Nike, that could clash somehow.

I could see Ovi pulling a Malkin and not signing anyone, just so he can change up gear throughout the season.

How did I miss that..? And I can see him doing that like weskuz alluded too... At least stick-wise and maybe gloves and pants while keeping the re-akt.

By the looks of this EA trailer it seems like the VGK for sure have different glove color options for home/away and are using grey helmets.
