Speaking of that (and the aforementioned Warrior QRE), I've heard that Warrior will be doing senior 65 flex models now at retail. Not 100% certain but seems legit.

I read somewhere July 13th was the release date for 2S and 2N skates, which was really specific so either the source works for Bauer or a retail store (or he's lying).

I was at a store today when a rep was in and he had a demo pair. They weren't my size so couldn't try them on Possibly one of the best looking skates I've seen in the alst few years. From what I saw, the tongue on them is super thick, thicker than the new 1X imo. Otherwise they looked to have very similar features to the current model, I couldn't tell if they have gone to the more flexible eyelets like the new 1X and 1N. The guy was leaving so I couldn't pick his brain much unfortunately.

One of the things I am most excited about on this skate (and probably the 2X?) is the LS5 Carbon steel. I really like the SB Black on my CCM 70K.

They're coming out with the 2S and 2S Pro model. The pro model is a bit more (I think) but you can customize the fit more. I still haven't heard how the fitting/customizing will work but that's good for the people with slightly different feet/ankles. Since TRUE is getting more and more popular it would make sense for Bauer to get into the custom fitting world for us regular folk.

SB is essentially colored steel. It’s nothing like step steel. The Black is more cosmetic than anything

It’d be interesting to ge some info on the ls5, would never switch from step steel though.

It’s along the same quality of steel as LS. Very sof and not nearly as dense

it's coated steel with absolutely no added benefit except it looks neat.

I've never tried SS, but I have found the Black a step up over the regular stainless. Maybe it's only in my head, but since get FBV I notice I keep my edges longer with this.

The black and the chrome finish are both harder steel than the stainless so it's no surprise you feel that advantage.

I've had Ribcore with the SB and now use Black Step and it's like upgrading to a G Wagon
